SNFLWR Acquires 26,000-Sqft Industrial Building In Penticton

PENTICTON, B.C., March 21, 2024 - After sitting vacant for five years, an industrial building on nearly two acres of land at 2324 Government Street in Penticton is about to get a new lease on life. SNFLWR Investment Corporation has acquired the building, a deal that was brokered by Venture Commercial, with plans to renew and modernize the property. Recognizing the untapped potential of this long-vacant property, SNFLWR is investing significantly in upgrades to breathe new life into the building, including the addition of16,000 sq. ft. of additional building space to be added by late 2024 and other upgrades slated to be completed by mid-year.

Boasting 24’ clearance height, grade and dock loading, and a large yard with perimeter fencing, the 26,000-square-foot building is zoned for general industrial use, a rare find in the Okanagan. “We’re in the process of selecting and curating a mix of tenants who we feel will contribute to the local economy and cultural fabric of Penticton” shares Jeremy Dawn, Chief Executive Officer of SNFLWR Investment Corporation.“We’re envisioning a space that becomes an integral part of this community, and we’re excited to have this opportunity to contribute to the revitalization of the area.”

A handful of units in the building are currently available for lease, and one new tenant has already been confirmed. Granite Rocks Ltd. a high-end granite and stone countertop manufacturer, will be opening their first B.C. location in Penticton this May. “My wife and I have been coming out to Penticton to vacation for years, and we just fell in love with this city,” shared Kelly Weiers, Owner of Granite Rocks. “Transparently, it was a dream of ours to open another location here, and as the business got more established at our first location in Lethbridge, we started looking at our business plan to map out how we could bring Granite Rocks to the Okanagan. We see tremendous opportunity here with so much growth, and we are thrilled to get the chance to serve this community.”

The stars aligned with this location, as high ceilings and ample space are needed for the company’s operations. “We saw this building and it was a standout and our top choice for a location before we even knew if it was available, so we had our realtors looking for the opportunity to lease here. When we saw the impressive vision SNFLWR had for the location, it all came together. Space and function were key, but then new modern design also just fits perfectly with our showroom aesthetic.” Weiers explained.

With a grand opening slated for May 2024, the production facility will also have a showroom, design centre, and office space. Granite Rocks will bring jobs to the community, and also provide custom residential, and commercial stone solutions to the area, along with select specializations and materials which are currently not available in the Okanagan.
